How to find players with High Potential in FIFA game

Here I'm going to tell you how to find players with high potential and their overall ratings in FIFA 14. And you could also use this method to find out how much money the player is worth.

How to find Plaver's Potential/overall rating in FIFA 14?

EA Sports have introduced a new GTN(Global Transfer Network) in FIFA 14. Because of this feature gamers can't search players in their career mode using overall stats like in previous versions. If you played the game (in Manager mode) you would've watched the GTN(scouting) tutorial. If you didn't play or don't know how scouting works, I'll explain it in simple terms. There are two types of scouting:

1. Player-based search

Here you can scout a player who you already know or one of your favorite players(like Rooney, or Messi) but you don't have to scout them (Rooney or Messi). Because for players with high potential(above 84 overall) their stats would be revealed. But then if you want to search for your favorite player who is below 84 overall ratings you have to scout them by going to Transfers/Search players in the game by using the last name or by finding the player by league and team. After you find the player, you can scout them with one of your scouts.

2. Region-based search

You can send your scout to a particular region(country) if it has a league. You don't always have to send your scout to the top-ranked countries like England or Spain. you would be surprised to find top players even in the least expected regions too(like chile, Poland,..) In this search, a scout will automatically search players based on your instructions like age, position, and specialty.

After some time your scout would come up with initial reports. After further scouting, he will give you the final report of the players where you can see the player's attributes but not the overall rating. But after some time you can learn how to find an exact overall of players by using these very scouting reports. I will now show you some of my methods, most of the gamers would've known it already but for those who didn't, I'm glad to help. Read below

Overall rating

I always prefer a scout with a 5-star rating and set the currency to sterling when starting a new career. Based on the scout's final report you would see the player's market value and wage. Market value could slightly differ based on player form or position.

•  If a player's market value is 5 million pounds or above then the player's overall rating is 78 or above.
• If it's 7 million pounds or above: 80 or above(pos:ST,LB,RB,CB.,WINGERS,CM)

 The CM(CAM, CM, CDM) for these positions slightly differ.CDM's market rate is usually low. if their market value is 4.5mill.pound then their overall would be 80, for CM and CAM(usually their market rates are hiked, if you find a player with a market rating worth 9.5 million pounds his overall would be 80)

• So for all positions(except CAM) if you find players worth 7 million or above, the minimum overall would be 80 or above
• If you find players worth 2.5mill or above theirs would be above 75,
• If you find players worth 875,000 pounds or above overall would be 70
• For players worth above 250,000, their overall would be 65 or above

[Again these ratings are not for GK. And keep in mind CAM(more expensive). This method could be more accurate for young players(16-25). Sometimes players aged above 25 could be less worth than the young players.]

2nd Method

First, try the above method. But, If you find this to be too complicated, there is another way out. I would upload it with a video tutorial later. This method could be used effectively to compare different players[To find out whose overall is higher]. The best thing about this method is you could use it on any player, even if the player is not scouted by you.
